    Best topping I have ever had! Add some blueberries to make another excellent cobbler. Also makes a wonderful apple cobbler.

Ingredients:

  1. 8 - fresh peaches peeled/pitted/sliced into thin wedges
  2. 1/4 cups - white sugar (or less)
  3. 1/4 cups - brown sugar (or less)
  4. 1/4 teaspoons - cinnamon
  5. 1/8 teaspoons - nutmeg
  6. 1 teaspoons - lemon juice
  7. 2 teaspoons - cornstarch
  8. 1 cups - flour
  9. 1/4 cups - white sugar
  10. 1/4 cups - brown sugar
  11. 1 teaspoons - baking powder
  12. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  13. 6 tablespoons - unsalted butter (salted is OK) chilled/cut into small pieces
  14. 1/4 cups - boiling water
  15. 1 tablespoons - white sugar
  16. 1/4 teaspoons - cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Combine peaches, first 2 sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice,cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly. Pour into 2 qt. baking dish.
Combine 2nd two sugars, baking powder, salt. Blend in butter with fingertips or pastry blender, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in water until combined.
Drop spoonfuls of topping over peaches. Mix 1 T. sugar & 1/2 t. cinnamon & sprinkle over top .
Bake until topping is golden - about 30 mins.
