Black Bean Burgers

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cans - black beans drained, rinsed, divided, 14 oz. each
  2. 1 - egg
  3. 1/3 cups - plain bread crumbs or similar for binder
  4. 2 teaspoons - ground cumin
  5. 1 teaspoons - dried oregano
  6. 1/4 teaspoons - cayenne pepper
  7. 1/4 cups - finely chopped cilantro
  8. 1 cans - chopped green chilis 4 oz.

Directions:

Pulse one can of the beans in a food processor with the egg, bread crumbs, cumin, oregano and cayenne until a coarse puree forms.

Transfer to a bowl and stir in the cilantro, chilis and remaining can of beans. Form mixture into 4 patties.

Bake patties in a 350 degree F oven for 10-20 minutes.

Top with salsa for added spice or eat on a bun or with a salad.
