Ingredients:
- 5 pounds - boneless chuck roast
- 2 tablespoons - fat (I use Crisco)
- 2 cups - water
- 1 1/2 cups - beer
- 1 cups - canned tomatoes OR tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoons - vinegar
- 2/3 cups - chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons - sugar
- 2 teaspoons - salt
- 1 teaspoons - cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons - ginger
- 1 - large bay leaf
Directions:
Brown meat on all sides in fat.
Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat. Simmer, covered, 3-1/2 hours or until tender.
Thicken broth as desired.
