Apple Spice Dump Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cans - apple pie filling (21 oz cans)
  2. 1 boxes - spice cake mix
  3. 1 1/2 sticks - cold unsalted butter thinly sliced
  4. 1 1/2 cups - walnuts chopped

Directions:

Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 350 F. Lightly coat a 9x13" baking dish with unsalted butter.
 
Layer in the baking dish in the following order (do not stir together) Spread 2 cans of apple pie filling into an even layer.  Sprinkle evenly with one box of spice cake mix then top with nuts.  Cut 1 1/2 unsalted butter into thin slices and arrange over the cake mx in an even layer, covering the entire surface.
 
Bake until golden brown, bubbling and a crispy crust begins to form, about 1 hour.
