How to Slice Fresh Pineapple

  1. Lay the pineapple on its side, and using a slicing knife, cut off the top green stem.  Then slice off the bottom end of pineapple.
  2. Stand the pineapple upright and remove skin from outer edges by slicing down from top to bottom, working around the pineapple until all outer skin is removed.
  3. Next, with pineapple in same position, cut sides away from center core by slicing down one side at a time, from top to bottom around the core.
  4. Once core is removed, lay pineapple sides down flat and slice or dice depending on its intended use.
