We are hearing more and more these days about the health benefits of coconut oil.  It is so easy to incorporate into our every day routine with these helpful tips on how to use coconut oil in the kitchen. Remember that coconut oil is actually solid at room temperature, and returns to liquid form at higher temperatures, and it endures high temperatures well.

1. Use unrefined coconut oil for delicious stir-fry!

2. Unrefined coconut oil makes a great substitute for butter, margarine, or shortening in baking recipes. (Start by substituting for half of the butter, and see how you like the flavor and consistency; if substituting for all of the butter called for, adding a tablespoon of liquid to the batter might be necessary)

3. Melt some coconut oil and drizzle it over popcorn for a delicious new twist of flavor.

4. Drizzle some coconut oil over fresh cooked lobster for a sweet, buttery flavor that us sure to delight!

5. Pop your popcorn in coconut oil.

6. Pan-fry thin fillets of tilapia in coconut oil.
