  • 1/2 cups - chopped onion
  • 1/2 cups - chopped green bell pepper
  • 3 cloves - garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons - olive oil
  • 2 cans - 14.5 oz. stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cans - 14.5 oz. chicken broth
  • 1 cans - 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons - dried basil, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons - dried thyme, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons - paprika
  • 1 pounds - firm white fish (halibut, red snapper or sea bass), cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 cups - fresh or frozen sliced okra, optional
  • 1/2 pounds - medium shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • - cooked rice, for serving with, if desired
  • Directions:

    Cook onion, green pepper and garlic in oil in a large saucepan until tender.

    Stir in tomatoes and juice, broth, tomato sauce, basil, thyme and paprika. Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in fresh fish and okra. Cook 5 minutes. Add shrimp. Cook 2 minutes or until pink.

    Serve with cooked rice, if desired.
