Take Along Taco Salad Tell a Friend

  • 1 pounds - ground beef
  • 3/4 cups - water
  • 1 1/4 ounces - Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1/2 cups - sour cream
  • 2 cups - shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cups - Taco Sauce
  • 12 - Taco Shells or White Corn Taco Shells, warmed and crumbled
  • 1 cups - red onion, chopped
  • 1 cups - mild cheddar cheese, shredded
  • - Chopped tomatoes, optional
  • - Sliced ripe olives, optional
  • Directions:

    BROWN beef; drain. Add water and seasoning mix. Prepare according to seasoning mix directions; cool.

    COMBINE sour cream and taco sauce in small bowl. Toss taco shells, lettuce, onion, cheese, tomatoes and olives in large, resealable plastic bag. Add beef mixture and sour cream mixture; toss well. Serve immediately or refrigerate. Top with additional taco sauce, if desired.

    Brief Description

    Like the title says, this is a great salad to take along to potlucks and picnics. If you want crisp taco shells, don`t mix them in until right before serving.
