  • 3 pounds - granny smith or other cooking apple
  • 2 tablespoons - butter
  • 1/4 cups - sugar
  • 1/4 cups - brown sugar
  • 1/2 cups - apple cider or apple juice
  • 1 teaspoons - ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoons - ground nutmeg
  • Directions:

    Peel, core and slice apples into wedges. Heat butter, sugar and cider in saucepan until sugar dissolves. Add the apples and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Simmer gently for 10-15 minutes or until apples just get tender. Serve warm.
