Make the Drink:
  • 1 1/2 - Mezcal, such as Del Maguey Vida
  • 1 - Maraschino Liqueur, such as Luxardo
  • 1 - Tamarind Infusion, see below
  • 1/2 - Fresh Lime Juice
  • Tamarind Infusion:
  • 3 - Seedless Tamarind Pulp, broken into 3 or 4 chunks
  • 12 - Water, filtered or spring
  • 4 1/2 - Sugar
  • Directions:

    Make the drink:
    Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a glass.

    Tamarind Infusion:
    Combine tamarind and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Expect some tamarind pulp to release. Remove from heat. Let cool completely. Strain, gently pressing on solids to extract a little extra tartness. Makes about 10 ounces.
