  • 2 cups - firmly packed fresh basil leaves
  • 3/4 cups - chopped walnuts
  • 2/3 cups - grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves - garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons - black pepper
  • 2/3 cups - olive oil
  • Directions:

    In a food processor combine basil, walnuts, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt and pepper.

    Cover and pulse until well blended.

    With food processor on low, slowly add olive oil and process until well combined.

    Serve over hot cooked pasta, saving any extra pesto for another use.

    Freeze extra pesto in ice cube trays. Transfer frozen cubes to resealable plastic freezer bag and pull out cubes as you need them.
