Mrs. Stewart’s Pecan Pie Tell a Friend

Ingredients:

  • 1 - baked pie shell
  • 1 cups - pecans, roasted, chopped
  • 3 - eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cups - sugar
  • 3 tablespoons - sugar
  • 3 tablespoons - flour (level tablespoons)
  • 3/4 cups - water
  • 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  • 1 cans - sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
  • Directions:

    Beat egg yolks with flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Add water, vanilla, and condensed milk. Cook over low heat until thick.

    Add pecans. Cool. Pour into pie shell.

    Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually add 3 tablespoons sugar. Spread on pie and brown in oven until golden brown.

    Refrigerate and serve cold.
