  • 1 packages - penne, ziti or mostaccioli noodles, 16 oz, about 3 cups dry
  • 1/3 cups - cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cups - ricotta cheese, optional
  • 1/4 cups - parmesan cheese
  • 1 pounds - ground beef or Italian sausage, or more, to taste
  • 24 ounces - spaghetti sauce, or more, to taste
  • 3/4 cups - cheddar OR cheddar/jack mix, grated
  • 1/4 cups - mozzarella, grated (or more or less, to taste)
  • Directions:

    Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. Stir cream cheese into noodles while they are still hot; then stir in ricotta and parmesan, too.

    While noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef or sausage in a large skillet; drain off grease. Pour spaghetti sauce into skillet with browned meat, and reduce heat to medium-low; allow to simmer 3-5 minutes.

    In 8x11-inch lightly greased baking dish, put half of noodles and top with half of cheddar, and half of meat sauce.

    Repeat layers, and then top all of it with mozzarella.

    Bake at 375 degrees F for 15-20 minutes until top is lightly browned.
