Ingredients:

  • 1 pounds - Ground Beef
  • 1 whole - Small Onion
  • 28 ounces - Crushed Tomatoes
  • 12 ounces - Tomato Paste
  • 1 tablespoons - Sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons - Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons - Oregano Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoons - Thyme Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoons - Crushed Red Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoons - Garlic Salt
  • 1 whole - Bay Leaf
  • 16 ounces - Lasagna Noodles
  • 2 whole - Eggs
  • 15 ounces - Ricotta Cheese
  • 16 ounces - Mozzarella Cheese
  • Directions:

    1. In a pot with a thick bottom, cook ground beef and onion over high heat until the juices evaporate. Then add the tomatoes, their liquid, and the next eight ingredients
    2. Heat the mixture to boiling, stirring to break up the tomatoes. Then reduce the heat to low; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir the mixture occasionally
    3. Discard the bay leaf
    4. Arrange the lasagna noodles in the baking dish. Preheat the oven to 375℉
    5. In a small bowl, combine the eggs and ricotta cheese. Spoon half of the mixture over the lasagna noodles in the baking dish
    6. Sprinkle one-half of the mozzarella and top with half of the sauce. Repeat layers.
    7. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes. Allow to stand for 10 minutes prior to serving.
