Ingredients:

Meat Sauce
  • 1 pounds - Italian sausage
  • 1 cloves - garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoons - whole basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  • 1 pounds - can tomatoes (or 2 cups)
  • 2 cans - 6 oz. each tomato paste (about 1-1/3 cups)
  • Lasagna
  • 10 ounces - wide lasagna noodles
  • 3 cups - ricotta or creamy cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cups - grated parmesan or romano cheese
  • 2 tablespoons - parsley flakes
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons - salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons - pepper
  • 1 pounds - mozzarella cheese slices
  • Directions:

    Brown sausage, drain fat and add sauce ingredients; simmer uncovered 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Cook noodles, drain and rinse. Combine rest of ingredients except mozzarella cheese slices.

    Place half of noodles in 9-x-13-inch pan, spread with half of cottage cheese mixture, half of mozzarella cheese, half of meat sauce; repeat layers.

    Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.

    IF MADE EARLY: Refrigerate until ready to bake. Cook for 10 minutes longer.
