Irma’s Lemon Poppy Seed Bread Tell a Friend

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups - lukewarm water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons - fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons - powdered milk (I omit)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons - salt
  • 2 tablespoons - sugar (often use 1T)
  • 2 tablespoons - margarine/butter (I use oil)
  • 3 cups - white flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons - nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons - lemon rind freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons - poppy seeds (I use 1 T)
  • 2 teaspoons - yeast
  • Directions:

    Measure in order into baking pan. Select desired crust.
    I don’t make it in the breadmaker. I use the dough setting, form the dough and brushed with egg, and bake in 350 oven.
