Ham, Spinach and Pasta Gratin Tell a Friend

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pounds - fusilli, cooked
  • 2 1/2 cups - grated Gruyere cheese, divided
  • 1 pounds - cooked ham (about 3 cups), chopped
  • 1 - onion, chopped finely
  • 3 cloves - garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons - butter
  • 2 packages - 10 oz. frozen spinach, cooked, drained, squeezed dry
  • 1/4 teaspoons - nutmeg
  • 5 - large eggs
  • 3 cups - milk
  • 1 1/4 cups - fresh rye bread crumbs
  • Directions:

    Place cooked pasta in greased casserole; sprinkle with 1/2 cup of cheese, and top with ham and 1 cup of cheese.

    Saute onion and garlic; add spinach, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Cook 1 to 2 minutes. Pour over ham.

    Whisk together eggs, milk, salt and pepper, and pour over gratin. Cover; bake 20 minutes.

    In small bowl, toss 1 cup of Gruyere cheese with bread crumbs. Sprinkle over gratin. Broil until top is golden.
