Ham, Shrimp or Chicken Fried Rice Tell a Friend

  • 3 tablespoons - oil
  • 2 - large ribs of celery, sliced diagonally
  • 3 cups - cold cooked rice
  • 4 - medium green onions and tops, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cups - cooked ham, shrimp or chicken, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 1/2 cups - frozen peas, optional
  • 1/2 cups - sliced water chestnuts
  • 1/2 tablespoons - soy sauce
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • - soy sauce, for serving
  • Directions:

    In a skillet, heat oil. Fry green onion and celery over high heat about 2 minutes.

    Add rice and stir to coat with oil.

    Add ham, peas, water chestnuts and soy sauce; heat through.

    Add eggs, stirring until set.

    Serve at once. Pass the soy sauce.
