Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cups - Sugar
  • 1 sticks - Margarine
  • 1 whole - Egg
  • 1 1/2 cups - Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons - Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons - Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons - Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons - Vanilla
  • Directions:

    Cream together sugar and margarine. Add egg and beat well.

    Stir in remaining ingredients.

    Roll dough into 2-inch balls and roll in sugar (place sugar in a small bowl, drop dough ball into sugar and roll briefly). Place dough ball on greased baking sheet and slightly flatten.

    Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes (not too long - if starting to brown, remove from oven immediately).

    These sugar cookies are the recipe my Grandma Watkins used to make when I was growing up; they are perfectly fluffy and sweet!
