White cake with butter cream frosting.

Put butter and water in large bowl. Heat in microwave for 2 minutes. Stir until all butter is melted. Add sugar, flour, salt and baking soda. Stir with a wire whisk until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Stir in sour cream until all is blended.
Pour into an 11-by-17-inch baking sheet that has been greased and floured. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven and make frosting.
Cook butter and milk for 3 to 4 minutes in microwave. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and a dash of salt. Heat until smooth; add nuts (if using) and gently spread over warm cake.
