Gametime Grits Blitz Casserole Tell a Friend

4 cups grits, cooked firm
2 green onions, chopped
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 small can green chiles
1 can tomatores, drained, chunked 10oz.
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. black pepper


Mix all ingredients together in large bowl and pour into a greased 2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with paprika and bake in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes or until casserole is firm and starting to brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle with left over grated cheese. Return to oven and bake until cheese is melted.
You can also add some browned ground chuck or sausage or shrimp into the mix.

I used a 10 oz can of Rotel tomatoes with green chiles as a replacement for separate ingredients. It is easier to serve if allowed to cool slightly first.
