Fresh Strawberry Glazed Pie Tell a Friend

  • 1 - baked pie shell
  • 3 pints - strawberries, washed, hulled, halved
  • 1/2 cups - plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tablespoons - cornstarch
  • - dash of salt
  • 1 cups - boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons - lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons - sugar
  • - whipped cream, for serving with
  • Directions:

    Mash 1 pint of strawberries in saucepan. Mix together sugar, cornstarch and dash of salt and mix into berries i pan. Add boiling water and cook on low, stirring until thick.

    Stir in lemon juice.

    Arrange halved berries face down in pie shell with remaining berries on top. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. Pour glaze over strawberries.

    Cool at room temperature. Serve with whipped cream.
