Five Spice Chicken Tell a Friend

  • 2 tablespoons - Honey
  • 2 whole - Onions, peeled and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons - Salt
  • - 1 inch of Ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 4 cloves - Garlic
  • 2 teaspoons - Chili Powder
  • 1 tablespoons - Curry Powder
  • 1 teaspoons - Turmeric Powder
  • 1 pounds - Boneless Chicken, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • - Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • 5 sprigs - Curry Leaves, can substitute basil
  • Directions:

    1) Blend honey, onions, salt, and spices into a paste. Rub all over chicken. Let marinate at least 2 hours.

    2) Heat oil over medium-high heat, deep-fry chicken until crispy and cooked through, about 3 minutes per piece. Work in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

    3) Drain cooked cubes on paper-towel-lined plate, sprinkle with salt, to taste, and garnish with a few torn curry (or basil) leaves.

    4) Serve individually on toothpicks, or stack two or three together on skewers.
