  • 2 2/3 cups - sugar
  • 2/3 cups - white corn syrup
  • 1/2 cups - water
  • 2 - (or 3) egg whites, according to size of egg
  • Directions:

    In a sauce pan, stir sugar, corn syrup and water together just enough to get the sugar moist.

    Bring mixture to a boil and boil in rolling boil until hard ball forms in cold water and a thread will stand straight up in the water (this is the secret to success).

    Have egg whites already beaten stiff, and add the syrup in very thin stream, beating constantly. Beat or stir until glassy look ceases, then pour into greased pan.

    If you drop by spoonfuls, you must be fast.
