  • 4 cups - water
  • 2 cups - sugar
  • 1 tablespoons - salt
  • 1 cups - lard
  • 4 - beaten eggs
  • 1 packages - yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water
  • 15 cups - flour, more or less to make soft dough
  • Directions:

    Boil water. Pour it over the sugar, salt, and lard.

    Add eggs and yeast with water.

    Add flour to make a soft dough; it will still be soft, sticky.

    Let rise 4 to 5 hours until double. Punch down; let rise 3 to 4 hours longer.

    Shape into walnut size balls; put on cookie sheet. Let rise 10 to 12 hours or overnight.

    Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
