Cheddar Burgers with Jalapenos Tell a Friend

  • 28 ounces - lean turkey or beef
  • 2 tablespoons - finely minced onion
  • - salt and pepper
  • 4 tablespoons - cream cheese
  • 1/4 cups - shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoons - garlic powder
  • 1 - fresh jalapeno pepper, diced and seeds removed
  • 1 tablespoons - olive oil
  • - rolls and toppings as desired
  • Directions:

    Preheat grill to medium heat or turn oven on to broil on high.

    In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder and diced jalapeno.

    Combine meat, salt and pepper and minced onion. Divide meat into four even sections. Form one-fourth of the cream cheese mixture into a flattened pancake shape; wrap meat around cheese, making sure the cheese is completely covered. Brush each burger with a little bit of olive oil.

    To Grill: Cook burgers on grill over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until completely cooked through.

    To Broil: Place burgers on foil-lined pan about 6 inches from the broiler; cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until completely cooked through.
