Buttermilk Pound Cake Tell a Friend

Ingredients:

  • 1 cups - shortening
  • 3 cups - sugar
  • 1 teaspoons - salt
  • 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  • 6 - eggs
  • 3 cups - flour
  • 1 cups - buttermilk
  • 1/4 teaspoons - baking soda
  • Directions:

    Mix shortening and sugar together. Add salt, vanilla and eggs (one at a time), beating well after each addition.

    Add flour and 3/4 of the buttermilk. Mix together.

    Add baking soda to remaining buttermilk and fold into mixture.

    Bake in greased and floured pan at 325 degrees F for 90 minutes, lowering heat during the last 10 minutes. (If baking mini bundts - 1 cup - bake 45 minutes to an hour).
