Broccoli Casserole Tell a Friend

  • 2 tablespoons - butter
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 cloves - garlic, pressed
  • 1 packages - sliced mushrooms
  • 2 packages - frozen broccoli or fresh heads of broccoli
  • 1 cans - cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 pounds - to 1/2 pound old cheddar, grated
  • 3/4 cups - slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cups - ground almonds to mix with breadcrumbs
  • Directions:

    Cook broccoli.

    Sauté onions and garlic in butter, add mushrooms and sauté a little longer.

    Add to cooked broccoli.

    Add soup, cheese and slivered almonds.

    Pour into casserole dish and sprinkle with ground almonds and breadcrumb mixture.

    Bake at 350F for 30 minutes (usually longer).

    Can be made ahead and frozen.
