Black Bean Burgers Tell a Friend

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans - black beans, drained, rinsed, divided, 14 oz. each
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/3 cups - plain bread crumbs, or similar for binder
  • 2 teaspoons - ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoons - dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoons - cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cups - finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 cans - chopped green chilis, 4 oz.
  • Directions:

    Pulse one can of the beans in a food processor with the egg, bread crumbs, cumin, oregano and cayenne until a coarse puree forms.

    Transfer to a bowl and stir in the cilantro, chilis and remaining can of beans. Form mixture into 4 patties.

    Bake patties in a 350 degree F oven for 10-20 minutes.

    Top with salsa for added spice or eat on a bun or with a salad.
